Having the ability to transform oneself into another person is the secret of interpretation. An actor’s own personality is the source of physical and mental differences, as well as psychological differences. Some actors uncover the psychological (or emotional) state of their characters by first finding physical traits. This is what is termed working from the outside and then going inwards. By finding certain physical traits, inner values are eventually uncovered as you discover the psychological reasons underlying the physical behaviour of your character
Carl Jung believed that we experience world in four ways: sensation, thinking, feeling and intuition and we do not belong exclusively to one of these types since we have the capacity of any of them.
These are the contradictions in a character which give a role its human inconsistencies, its inner state of flux. These psychological values add rich dimensions to a role bringing it alive with an inner essence
